COURT OF CHAMPIONS Dear Friends of Manhasset Tennis, We are writing to introduce you to the Court Of Champions project and to ask for your support. The Court of Champions committee is working under Indians Rock Community Foundation to raise funds for this project. We are happy to share the good news with you that the Board of Education has approved the site allowing us to build three additional tennis courts at Manhasset High School (M.H.S.). This addition will bring the number of courts at the High School to seven; the minimum required for proper match play. The three new courts will be built on land presently unused and undeveloped. The addition of the new courts will create an L configuration with the pre-existing four and will not encroach or impact the existing field.
Our goal is to raise funds for this project which includes the construction of three new courts with lighting, and an upgrade to the existing lighting which will allow for public use of the courts after dark. The new lighting and bleachers will serve both the new tennis courts and the existing field. Our hope is to raise these funds by May 2010, break ground in June, and complete the new courts by September 2010.
The Court of Champions Committee has begun its community tennis events and fundraising. We want to invite you to “Get In The Game”. Are you up for the Challenge?
